I actually feel sorry for him.

Perhaps we all have a price.

Once you sell your principles you also sell your integrity and your credibility........things that have taken a lifetime of work to achieve, and they cannot be retrieved.....ever.

He has to live with that.

I'm afraid I'd probably only sell my soul to the Devil, and betray my beliefs, if kidnappers were threatening to kill my nearest and dearest.

Even then, I'd expect a clout from my mum, after she was released, for giving in to bullies, and being soft.
