Talking to one of your golfing partners at work today Graham it seems you are of the opinion that this site is an extreme right wing website where we constantly post about the BNP and Nazis.
Believe it or not immigration is a genuine concern to a lot of people and for you to dismiss this as extremism is not the way forward. As you have found out with the two Asian Tory councillors it is easy for someone to be branded a racist.
Like yourself I class myself as a hardworking family man who wants the best for myself and my family and just because on this topic I do not hold the same view as yourself does not make me a Nazi.
In another thread you asked people who have voted Labour in the past to question whether they should be doing that as we do not seem to hold the same values as the party, well I have and this time I won't be voting Labour in the General Election in fact I may not vote at all, I have yet to decide but until I think Labour are making some headway on this topic I will become a floating voter, as I think you do a good job as my Peel ward councillor I don't think my decision on who I vote for will be an issue, yet.

I am pretty sure some of our older members who remember what Nazis really were, not these watered down shirt lifters at the BNP, would be upset over your comments. Flying a St Georges flag, calling someone a p*ki, not wanting to live on the same street as muslims or even wanting to go hunting does not make anyone a Nazi. Go to Glasgow and try and get a job in a catholic firm when your a protestant or vice versa does that make them Nazi? because some of your arguments do not hold water don't class everyone who wants to live their lives their way as something their not.

One of the things we have argued for and about, at some length, on this forum is freedom of speech. The consensus appears to lie with Rousseau's famous statement on the freedom of the press, " I may disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Which is exactly how it should be.

I feel it only fair to observe that this latitude does not extend to the flinging of gratuitous insults. The art of debate lies not only in expressing what one believes to be true but also in demonstrating why one believes thus.

The automatic perjorative labelling of anyone who disagrees with the orthodox view is exactly the tactic employed by Hitler' Lenin and Stalin et al and we all know where that road leads to.

I would now naturally expect that Councillor Jones would like to take the opportunity to explain his comments and apologise for the offence he has given.

Unfortunately it is all too common for people who hold extreme views to classify anyone who does not agree with them as in need of "political re-education". Stalin had it off to a T (no, not you Tealeaf!). Tea is accused of being a BNP member simply because he doesn't agree with Councillor Jones. So what if he is? - and I have no idea whether he is or not, nor do I care. He is entitled to his opinion. Unfortunately, extremism breeds extremism, from whichever side.

I'm not a Nazi and I don't support the BNP with their extreme views but I can understand why they are gaining a stronger following when people who should be able to represent us show such a lack of understanding of our very real needs and concerns.

Interestingly I was called a Nazi for a post I made in the thread about the travellers who set up camp on the Aldi car park. If that was you Mr. Jones may I just ask if you would welcome uninvited campers into your garden and not complain about the mess they leave around them and behind them when they finally depart? Would you defend their right to take over your land and to use it for purposes you would never have been granted planning permission for?

Also, isn't it asking for trouble to suggest that someone puts your name and address on a site which encourages firebombing? There may be some idiot out there (this website is read by many "guests") who takes you up on that suggestion.

Less did you really have to start a new thread about the same subject? I feel that to get the full picture you can't pick a bit out of my post you need the full thread as it was.

Although in the other thread he did make the comment "you BNP lot, I must now say that my comments where not a direct quote from Graham Jones but someone else’s interpretation of what his opinion was. I have spoken to this person again and he is extremely annoyed with me for using his comments of what were a private conversation and his refuses to discuss them again.

I too feel Graham is a valued member of this website and have learned a lot from him even though we differ in opinion on some issues.

Without going through all of Grahams postings I do not ever remember him referring to any member of this site as a Nazi and feel as I have no prove that Graham has an opinion that this website is an extreme right wing site. I apologise again and would agree to never posting again on the Accyweb if that is what he wants.

Does no one feel that the need to be politically corect has gone far enough. We now step around problems and sidestep issues for fear of upsetting or agitating some one and the problem just festers. For Gods sake if you have something to say just say it rather than just thinking about it . You have a right to your opinion rightly or wrongly and discussing a problem logically without being shouted down by some loudmouth is the English way. You may not always win the discussion but you will have used your God given right to speak your piece
