Darn free papers

No don't get me wrong, I can take or leave these, The Citizen, and The Herald.

My bug bear is that they more often than not leave these sticking in the letterbox. The Herald in particular, as it is a magazine rather than a paper, and thicker. It doesn't flatten easily, and is constantly left thus, letting cold air in. Bit of a pain especially just lately. Also an invitation to burglars if you are at work and it's been noticed it's still there hours later.

Must admit, never thought about that Caz, although mine are always pushed through to land safely on the mat.

Sure they won't mind if you E-Mail them and mention it.

Worked the other way for me couple of weeks ago .. kept missing the meter reader, and wrote down my reading and left half way out .. 'course kept getting pushed back through with flyers didn't it ! ..

Re: Darn free papers

Already on to that Katex, The Herald at least, have a couple of things to ask them anyway.
Citizen I have had to report a few times at different addresses, but still happened. Never much in it anyway, so maybe I'll ask for it not to be delivered any more.

The Herald is a new one on me, only received it since we moved here. Think they are based in Clitheroe, so maybe only goes as far as Clayton??

Re: Darn free papers

I don't get any free papers - probably because they don't like the uphill walk for just a few houses.

Re: Darn free papers

Ain't had a freeby for years, and when I did it wasn't put though the letter box, there was just 4 stuck on the steps in the flats, couldn't even bother to try and put them through the door. A few years ago I even had a delivery lad from the Citezen knock on the door and ask for a Xmas tip, I gave im one, always use Daz for white table cloths

Re: Darn free papers

Because the Citizen is a free paper, people do not complain as much when they do not get it.

Which is why it is often found in big heaps on street corners, chucked behind some cabinet etc.

Best place for um if you ask me, or in the bottom of a bird cage

Exactly what happens.

I once had a phone call from the citizen asking if we had it delieved, when I said I didnt they advised it would be looked into, a few weeks after they started arriving again.

One use for having my recycle sack next to the front door.
