ABE LINCOLN
WINSTON CHURCHILL
MARTIN LUTHER KING
GAHNDI
NELSON MANDELLA

They all fought for what they believed in in their own way and help make the world what it is today. Not all good but they give it their all.

My wife, who never had the chance to meet my mother and father.

1. Glenn Miller. So I could find out what really happened to him in 1944.
2. Henry VIII. So I could tell him what a rotten husband he was.
3. Groucho Marx. For wit, style and scintillating conversation
4. Queen Victoria. To see if she could, possibly, be amused.
5. Elvis. So I could drool into my soup.

Six years later...

1. Oscar Wilde could still sup at my table.

2. Alan Bennett, same. He amuses me.

3. Gwyneth Dunwoody, another politican I admired, can have Barbara Castle's seat.

4. Steven Fry. Like Oscar, I'd like to battle my wits against him.

5. Debbie Harry. Interesting life. Plus I've had a crush on her since I was thirteen.

Didn't see you'd re-activated the original thread -this is what i posted on "The Iron Lady" thread:

Been there, done that, worn the tee-shirt! (Or should I flatter you/me and say: great minds...)

Not surprised you sometimes get bored....

Concur with Alan Bennet - great Northern wit.

You and Oscar woud be one too many quips -won't say which I'd prefer

Jeremy Brett for absolute male beauty - (voice, looks...was/am in his thrall)

The Queen (just so you'd behave!)

Joanna Lumley

Will start working on the menu...

I'd still prefer 8 or 12 at my table as there are more I'd really like to invite...
Sting -definitely

The Waleses -for glamour

Jane Austen

Dame Judi Dench

Bono Vox.....etc,etc,etc

Think it's going to have to be a banquet....

To ask them questions I missed asking the other times we met.
