Dept for culture media and sport

'Dept for culture media and sport' - never heard of them!
...but they have written to me saying that they will be calling to interview me soon for a national survey on how people spend leisure time.

I have been selected 'at random', and my address 'cannot be replaced by another'.

I don't particularly look forward to being questioned by a stranger - I could refuse I suppose - but they have bribed me for my cooperation by giving me a book of six 1st class stamps and the promise of a £5 High St voucher.

I think that this survey is a waste of our/your money.
Since the country strapped for cash, this is a farce.

It should only take a few minutes for my interview - when they realise they have selected a hermit in their sample, there won't be much to write down will there?

Well thinking about it Margaret, it could have been worse, it could have been me they selected

Re: Dept for culture media and sport

A woman arrived a few days ago unannounced.
She woke me from a nap, and I said I would prefer an interview at a prearranged time, and gave her my phone number.

She phoned today and
...I have declined to participate.

Why should I volunteer for an enquiry into my private life? (said she indignantly)

We are already subjected to enough snooping without volunteering info.

The '£5 High St voucher' would have been a nuisance - I would feel obliged to visit Accy centre to spend it.

Re: Dept for culture media and sport

They'd get a lot of knowledge from me if they rang, giving my extensive social and leisure time
