They are available to all, it's just a shame that 95% of the Hyndburn residents could not be bothered to go to kashmir to fill in the forms that are freely available in H.B.C.'s new justice for the borough's minority office* that they have opened there.
*Please note, this office has been opened with a grant from the National Lottery due to which certain restrictions on admittance have to be applied i.e. You can't come in paleface!

Re: Did Graham Jones do the right thing?
Compare and contrast the use of English and the manner of expression in the email with Graham's previous posts on this website and I think you will find a considerable difference in style. I suspect that there are a great many concerned labour voters across the country who have recieved a version of this email, all signed by their respective MP.

Yes, they've dropped the term 'don't give a toss', from the official party press release.
Pity.
At least it had a modicum of honesty about it, even if the figures accompanying it were way off the mark

Yes he did say that.
I do think it is reasonable for the electorate(who have not had a say in this matter since the mid 70's despite the many and varied changes to the original idea.....which to refresh those foggy memories.....was as trading partners...no mention of deep politicaland financial integration i.e. Brussels makes all the rules and we pay to follow them) to have a say in things.
It is the democratic way to do things.
Ah Silly me......! the EU wants nothing to do with democratic process....see the results for those countries who were not keen to ratify the Lisbon Treaty....they were sent back to vote again until they got the right answer......that is, the one that the EU bureaucrats like.

That's the one...but it seems like thy are allowed to choose which bits they follow.
They say, what they think you want them to say, before an election.
Once elected, they can do pretty much what they like...usually the stuff that makes them the most money.
Cynical??? You bet!

People have never been allowed a say, if they want this country to be a member of the European Union.
The last referendum, in 1975, asked about continued membership of the Common Market.
A totally different entity, to the monster state, we're ruled by today.

Re: Did Graham Jones do the right thing?
It is known as the democratic deficit. And in common with other EU related deficits, it is growing.
The peoples of Europe are sleepwalking into the very situation the EU was supposedly set up to avoid.
So who will be the next to have a government imposed on them from Brussels? Greece and Italy now have a government of EU placemen. Belgium hasn't had a government for 532 days. The Irish government twitches to every tug on the EU's apron strings. Who's next? Spain? Portugal? Hungary?

Re: Did Graham Jones do the right thing?
yes I did say that the entity we joined is not the one we have today.....that we joined a Trading Organisationor at least that is how it was sold to the electorate of the time.
Not this huge ungainly politico-financial frankestein being that is now trying to rule the world...and failing very badly through lack of coherent leadership.
All the politicians in the major parties have their fingers in their ears and are saying 'La-la-la-la-la' as loud as they can, to drown out the voice of the people.

Hmmm, A-B that is a question I posed quite some time back.....it is worrying, but I can see it happening.

I have looked for the post in this thread, but I think it might be in one of the other threads where the EU have been discussed...and there have been a few of those.

Yes, I'd hazard a guess that worries over Europe, means the issue pops up in about 95% of the threads on here.
Odd, that.
Almost if folks round here do 'give a toss'.

Re: Did Graham Jones do the right thing?
I had noticed that it was a very 'current' topic.
