Margaret, if you're not careful you could risk losing your Graham Jones given tag of being 'the voice of reason', and could well be given the label of a Gillian Duffy style 'bigoted woman'.

If someone out there gives me and the rest of the country a chance to vote on the issue .......then they can call me what they like. Just as long as they don't call me late for my tea.

Margaret, just comfort yourself with the fact you have Graham Jones's respect.
Even if that respect doesn't quite stretch to giving you the right to have a say in your own future, and the fact that Graham Jones will never allow you the opportunity to vote in an E.U. referendum.

Well, G having the respect of Graham Jones is all well and good....in theory he repsects me...or says he does, but he can't do or he would have allowed me a say in the future of Britain.......not just me... but the 95% who don't give a toss. I'm sure they would have liked some consideration too.
Ah, but silly me(again)if we had had a say it might have blown the 95% theory right out of the water. Politicians don't like to lose face do they?

True.
Empty rhetoric, talk of respect, and democracy, means sweet Fanny Adams, if those words aren't backed up with actions.
Hit politicans where it hurts most, at the ballot box.
If you believe it an important enough an issue for the future of this country, and you think you deserve your opinions should be counted, don't not vote, use your protest vote more proactively, give your vote to UKIP.
If enough people do, it might just sink in just how disenfranchised ordinary folks feel right now.

Re: Did Graham Jones do the right thing?
'shopping link added by skimwords' is what you see when your mouse hovers over the red text in Gary's post. Clicking it opens a page at Amazon uk.
Has Roy devised a new way of getting revenue from this forum, or is it just that I never noticed this before?

Yes, he added it a while ago as another way to try and make the site pay for itself

Re: Did Graham Jones do the right thing?
So GJ wants our support to retain Hyndburn as a seat in the H of C - yet he could not support the wishes of a large percentage of his constituents (certainly amongst the members of Accyweb), when he voted against allowing a referendum.
Whilst I strongly support the retention of the Hyndburn seat I do not feel that I can support GJ in any way whatsoever.

Ballot box seemed most fitting.
Balls would have been a bit pointless.
Most politicans ain't got any.
