Re: Did the Queen say it ?

I we met at the church youth club and I used to go to church on a regular basis but we opted for a registry office wedding.
If it was good enough for us 32 years ago then I reckon it's good enough for them.

We had a buffet in the pub and a cake that couldn't be cut. They had to take it round the back.
I was given a flower posy by two little girls.
It was back to work for mick on the monday.
The only thing I would change if I had my time over would be the awfull dress I wore.

The Guildhall in Windsor is a very attractive old building but, of course, it's open to the public and there's a MacDonalds very close by. Windsor sounds posh and, of course, it's got the weekend home of the poshest family in Britain but it's no different to anywhere else really, except it's more expensive.

I sometimes used to stay at the White Hart hotel, opposite the castle, with my husband when he was on business in Slough (his firm paid for it - we couldn't have afforded it). We used to hear the guardsmen, in their barracks under the castle wall, shouting and whistling through the windows at girls walking down the street. I often wondered if the queen was "not amused".

Re: Did the Queen say it ?

I've seen a picture of the insides and it's a bit classier than Accy register office anyway.

It amuses me when people get married at the Accy one and then go across the road and have a photo taken outside St. James' church.

My son got married at Manchester Registry Office. It's lovely inside and a very imposing building in an attractive square - right next door to the Criminal Court. You have to walk past the prison vans to get to the car park.
