DNA..Horror
A couple who took a DNA test to silence pub gossips who questioned the parentage of their daughter got a nasty shock. The Czech pair, had grown sick of constant sniping from friends.
Their 10-month-old baby girl had blonde hair while they both had dark hair. So, to end the rumours, they took a DNA test. But the results showed that neither of them had the same genetic profile as the baby and could therefore not be the real parents. it is now believed their child had been mixed-up with another in hospital.
that must be horrible finding out your son/daughter isnt your real kid!!
but if i had brought them up , i dont think i could give that child away.....could you?

Re: DNA..Horror
Even worse is the thought that the own child has been brought up by someone else.

What an absolute nightmare...not sure how I would deal with it at all after bonding with a child for 10 months!!!!!!!

Re: DNA..Horror
Here's a case that took twenty nine years before a man realised he'd been given to the wrong parents at the hospital.

Re: DNA..Horror
I think there was another famous case in Canada in the '40's, that they made a film about.
Very often I think there must have been some Nordic Princess giving birth at Bramley Meade Maternity Home, in January 1965.

Come off it, you'd have loved to shove me around in a pram...infact you probably still would.

I am sure you will let her put a big nappy on you. It would be nice of you not to soil it this time, like you did with your last pretend mummy.

Re: DNA..Horror
How awful, but I suppose you'd have no choice but to find your biological child, would be very hard though.

Re: DNA..Horror
It would be devastating to find out the child you had reared wasn't your own but could you stop loving it? You might be very concerned that your "real" child was well loved and cared for but, if it was, could you take it away from the only parents it had ever known? For me, the answer to both questions would be no. A little child only knows that it is loved and safe with its parents, whether they are the natural parents or not, and to hand it over to strangers, saying "You are not my child", would be cruel and selfish in the extreme.

Re: DNA..Horror
How awful. Can't imagine what it would be like to have to give that child up and bond with another after all those months.

Re: DNA..Horror
I'd hate to be in that dilemma because I would love the child I had cared for but also feel drawn to the child who was genetically mine. I suppose I'd somehow want to be involved with both, but it would depend a lot on the feelings of the other parents too.
