Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
a divided country that is Scotland. the yes Nazis are seeing to that .I want a no more than ever now . the separatists are frothing at the mouth but don't underestimate the no vote. people are fed up of the intimidation and rabble from the yes camp . just as I have been saying right from the beginning of the referendum nationalist politics always ends in tears.

Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
Seeing that the per capita spend by Westminster is £1400 more in Scotland than in England, and now promises of an overall increase in this in the event of a "No" vote - what the hell do the Scots have to whinge about?
I can understand why Labour supports the "No" vote - they would lose 60 odd seats at Westminster so we could then do away with the Coalition - but why do the Tories also support them.
Of course any increases will have to ratified by Parliament - but no doubt the majority of the 3 parties will do as they are told and not follow their consciences, no doubt our MP will be the first in the division lobby to approve the motion.
If only the Government will spend the same on the English then I will fully agree with them - but I am certainly not holding my breath

Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
Really, really hope there's a "Yes" vote announced on Friday. I will take great pleasure in watching the ungrateful gits see their projected socialist paradise disappear before their eyes when the hard touch of financial reality hits them. If they do vote "no", I would like to see ordinary MPs for English constituencies refuse point-blank to approve the bribes that gutless grovellers like Cameron, Milliband, Brown, Darling and the rest of 'em have showered on the Scots in the last few days. Sadly, as Barrie says, there's sod all chance of that. Let down yet again by those who supposedly represent us!

Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
Salmond wins if it's Yes.
But he wins if it's No- they've promised him virtual independence with a massive sweetener from the English taxpayer and guaranteed backup from the Bof E.
I'll bet he's half hoping for a No vote!

Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
I really wish that I could say I didn't care either way, but a yes vote will have so many repercussions that will be unfavourable to England.......a NO vote is just as bad....especially since the leaders of the three political parties have said that Scotland will get so many sweeteners that are not available to those of us who will be paying for them.
I object strongly to the way these three have capitulated to the intimidation of the Yes campaign...and like you, I hope none of the promised measures meet with the approval of the body of MP's...but you can be sure that the whips will get the MP's to toe the party line.

Well of course he has to follow his Master's lead - I wonder how many pieces of silver he hopes to collect.

Scotland already get more than their fair share of the money pot im kinda leaning towards wanting scotland to sod off just to see how they cope but yet again one of our primeminister is signing away OUR money willy nilly in what can be called nothing else but a bribe.
i wonder how free cameron would be spending / prommising money away if it was coming out of his own bank account

Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
I think the Yes campaigners have out thought the middle aged Westminster Politicians from the minute the starting pistol sounded.
Whereas the Union campaigners have mainly been doorstep canvassing, putting up posters and holding meetings the Independence seekers immediately set up Facebook Accounts and signed up to be able to comment on newspaper articles which reach millions of personal FB pages.
Whenever I've looked at the FB page of the newspaper posters making "Yes" comments such as, "We want freedom from WM bullies" ; "You only want our oil" and "Naysayers only make negative comments" there's absolutely no information, no friends, and scarcely any interests on their FB page. The same applies to the Facebook accounts of supposedly English naysayers who rudely tell the "Yes" camp Scots to take a running jump. After these last few frenzied campaigning weeks the tone of the insults aimed at the "Yaay to the Republique" has got worse. There's no wonder many members of Jo Public have decided they want no part of the Union.

Re: Do the Scots REALLY want Independance?
if scotland go it alone this will of course make the UK a smaller country
will we still be expected to take on the same amount of imigrants and pay the same amount of money into the EU money pot or will these figures be reduced by %25 as we will loose %25 of the UK .
