Thats all
You are obviously highly intelligent yet choose to ask the most superfluous questions
If you had made your question clearer from the beginning there would have been no need for her to ask.
Your seeming irritation stems from your failure to do so

However, in certain countries, at certain times in history "blood" has been used as a synonym for "nation". Nazi Germany comes immediately to mind ... "blut" was the dynamic (oops ) that drove government policy.

And don't you think this comment makes you sound just a little bit patronising?

I enjoy a good debate, but for some reason I can't quite see the point of this thread.

Why did you pose the question?

Re: Do you think

Trying a bit of oneupmanship it seems like to me, coming across as very pompous.

Having given this a little more thought since I first contributed to this thread I have to say that blood isn't always thicker than water. My late mother fell out with her sister, something which effected the whole family, the consequences being that didn't speak to my Aunt for over 20 years, and won't get the chances now because she is now no longer with us, but I am still trying to contact my cousin who lives Blackpool way and have actually been helped in my quest to find her by GC and hopefully I will be able to build bridges before its to late
