I don't watch the reality shows at all.......I find them irritating....(like an itch you can't scratch)......hubby watches those avidly too.

Magnum PI has just started running on DMAX at 7pm every night Margaret

Am I one of the few that actually watches a programme because I am interested in it and when the programme has ended I will go and do something else. Personally I've always thought TV has too much of a hold on people and never allowed it to be on during the day except for Saturdays sport. I would much rather have the radio on or listen to music than sit watching a box in the corner.

I was blessed with a wife similar to you, except she didn't notice that no matter what I might want to watch she always insisted that HER soaps should take priority.
Yes, I did and still do watch rubbish, but now seven years after the silly girl has left me I can honestly say, I don't watch her weekly or omnibus rubbish, I hardly watch any Sci-Fi, because now I can choose, I usually watch factual programmes, they weren't even allowed as a choice!
Thank goodness for sanity and no more female logic!
P.S. How come you had to ask him? Shouldn't you have been telling him what to watch?

Re: Does TV Rule Your Life?
I only have the television on if I or someone else is actually watching something. When the programme has finished the television goes off.
I can't stand having constant noise blaring away in the background.

Re: Does TV Rule Your Life?
I watch 1 soap which is Corrie, also Monkey World when it's on and the auditions for X Factor and BGT (don't usually watch beyond auditions). Yes, I watch Jeremy Kyle, the participants and their sordid lives fascinate me.
Apart from those UK Gold and Dave are quite watchable but, on the whole, I'd rather have Radio 4.

Oh, now that's blown it Jaysay......No, I think I won't bother. I can't stand sport....all that effort ........all that emotion, over a pigs bladder.

Re: Does TV Rule Your Life?
Jaysay, why tell me that Magnum PI is on.....you KNOW I never get the controls
Anyway, I actually prefer the Stone Cold series as it is less 'froth and bubble'.....not intellectual, but good stories, with twists(I like twists).

Re: Does TV Rule Your Life?
It is wonderful to be single and forget that Sky Sports exists.
I am very selective - my set gets switched for about 5 hours a week max,
and positively no reality, soaps or quizzes.

Re: Does TV Rule Your Life?
I only obsessively watch cricket on Sky Sports; even then I have to battle the child for the remote as it's usually firmly in her sweaty paws, tuned to some cookery programme or "One tree hill" or "when surgical tools get left behind" grrrrrrr.

Re: Does TV Rule Your Life?
BBC Parliament is going to rule my life from 12:00pm tomorrow! Otherwise no, I don't really watch TV unless there is something specific which I want to watch. I do sit in the same room when the TV is on, but I'm doing other things while someone else is watching.
