Angry Dog Mess

It takes me 10 minutes to do the school run,but on our short journey we have to dodge atleast 10 piles of dog muck
Why cant dog owners take responsability and pick this mess up !
I dont have anything against dog owners just the ones who leave their dogs muck all over the footpaths !
I feel better for getting that off my chest but i will be dodging it again in the morning !

I am with you on this one, I had to dodge a couple of piles of muck on the shourt journey from my car to school the other day, not easy with three little 'uns trying to make sure they all miss it, luckily they managed it. Can't understand why people just cannot clean up after their dogs, i wouldnt dream of leaving its mess in the street

Re: Dog Mess

I pestered (by phone and email)-
the local environmental health dept
the dog warden
- both visited me more than once

I emailed -
Peter Britcliffe(HBC)
Councillor McLoughlin - who came to see for herself
Dorothy Westell (LCC)

I was interviewed by The Observer who did an article on page4
(I am not page3 material )
I featured on billboards as 'the dogdirt vigilante'

There is a 'waiting list' for dog bins - get on it.
After about an 18 months wait and pester I now have TWO dog bins near my home and I see people using them

Re: Dog Mess

Are you sure it belongs to a dog?

It might need analyzing by an expert before the culprit(s) can be named.

Please see this thread for contact details of local specialist.

Re: Dog Mess

Slightly different, but i find it annoying when people put their cats out to do "their business" outside so they go to the toilet in other peoples gardens. I have to check the garden every morning when the weathers nice before i can let the boys play outside, its really irritating

Re: Dog Mess

I live in a house with a shared garden, there's six of us sharing, and one of the neighbours own a rabbit which they let roam the garden 100% of the time.
There is a pile at least a foot deep full of rabbit dropping and nobody seems to think that it needs cleaning up.
When it was mentioned by another neighbour the response was there's a dustpan and brush on top of the hutch!!!

That is anti-social behaviour - report it to your landlord

Re: Dog Mess

My flat has shared lawn areas. One of the four of us in this block got himself a Jack Russell puppy. He is disabled so could not take it for walks. He just opened the door to let it out to perform. After 3 weeks I counted 21 heaps of crap - I marked them all with sticks and posted him a curt note pointing out that dogs were not allowed according to the tenancy agreement.
He picked up all the crap and gave away the dog.
You have to be firm and stand by your rights.

Re: Dog Mess

just out of interest, when i lived in Stockport n District 8/9 years ago, the local council used to provide bags to pick the crap up, was only there about 7/8 months but seemed very effective to me.

Re: Dog Mess

Most councils will provide poop bags free of charge, but you have got to go into their offices.these people that let their pooches poo anywhere and cant be bothered to bend down and pick it up,wont be bothered to call into their council offices for free poop bags.
its just a pity more people dont get prosecuted for allowing their dogs to foul in any public area
