Dont Get Done Get Dom

Does anyone else watch this show? I love watching it! However i wouldnt have the guts to do what he did or what he says and how confident he is asking for things. I feel it sounds cheeky but it isnt really in a way!

Do you ask for discounts?

I luurve complaining.
I have had a £100 cheque today from a savings bank, as compensation for them taking too long to action a transaction.
I threatened to make a claim via the financial ombudsman
It pays to complain

Im not big on complaining but I do if I need to (or feel the need to) as for asking for discounts, in general I dont bother but when it cam to buying the stuff for my boys when they were babies I did, got bad at it at one point, but that was because I was buying two of everything at the same times and spent thousands.............

Re: Dont Get Done Get Dom

Another thing is that Dom goes into all these self owned shops and thats where gets the discounts. He doesnt like go into places like big retail places like jjb and b&q etc. Theres not that many independant shops in accrington tbh. Or am i not looking?

I watch it most mornings, I always ask for deal, only recently I bought a TV asked for a discount and ended up with a 5 year extended warrenty free of charge, worth around £330

Never seen the program.

But I always ask for deals. As the saying goes if you dont ask you dont even get told no.

Even if it involves ringing the same place 5 or more times till you get the answer your looking for.

Cheek gets you everywere.

And I also love complaining.

i was in B&M in Halifax a few months back and they had this really nice PINK kettle that i wanted, the price of it was £10.99 which i thought was dead cheap, but they only had one kettle left and that was without the box, i took it to the till and said, how much are you going to give me this for, it hasnt got a box....i got it for £5.99

Re: Dont Get Done Get Dom

I do complaining if something is broken/damaged/wrong and I do bargaining if there is something like a missing box or component I can do without but if something is exactly as it should be then I feel cheeky trying to bargain because in this country we're just not brought up to do that. I don't mind doing it abroad because in a lot of countries they expect it and think you're barmy if you just pay the asking price. Haggling can be part of the fun of shopping in some countries.
