£1,000 for a £500 holiday isn't a good deal.

Re: door to door loans

PLEASE DON'T. I see on a daily basis how this becomes a vicious cycle, where they just keep ending up borrowing more as they can't make their income last due to high repayments

Re: door to door loans

East lancs moneyline is a preferable option..but don't lump them into the same catagory as the doorstep lenders as they are actually there to offer affordable options rather than just to rip you off!!

You have to have a bank account to access the more affordable options, and that is part of the barrier for many and why they end up using the doorstep lenders!

Re: door to door loans

i dont think you would get £500 straight away any way, you usually start on £100 and build it up... the best place to get a loan is from the credit union......

Like everyone else here, my advice is don't do it......if you needed £500 for something essentail then that is a very different matter, but for a holiday.......you'd have to be mad to get yourself into debt for that. Save up.

My cousin borrowed 300quid from a door to door lender a few years back, he is still paying that off now. Seriously mate just work some overtime or sell somethings you dont need, there are better ways to get money than borrowing.

Re: door to door loans

Credit unions want you to save as well as borrow. Their loans are cheaper than anyone i know. If you live in hyndburn there is one HHH Credit Union. The telephone number is 01706 215082. They prefer you to open an account and save for a bit regular first before you get a loan. Also you have to go for an interview for a loan with proof of your income and expenditure ie gas, electric, rent, food etc. If you want to become a member of the credit union you have to live or work within the common bond which is hyndburn, haslingden or helmshore. They have collections in hyndburn during the week.

There is one in blackburn as well but i dont know the details.

If you have a bank account have you not approached the bank for a loan? That would be far cheaper.
