Drinking And Driving

find it hard to believe that the smoking ban is here total no smoking in public arears yet you can still have a drink and drive .when is the goverment going to make it a total ban on drink and drive .it has been proven that even one drink can inper your driving ability and cause delaid reactions.would one cig hhave the ability to kill.

Re: Drinking And Driving

if it falls on ya lap while driving or causes a fire in ya house, then yes, it has the ability to kill but understand where you are coming from, people who drink drive should have there licence took off them permanantly, and be charged for attemped murder, because as soon as they get in that car they could potentially kill someone!
so i too agree with it davo69 there should be a total ban on drink driving!

Re: Drinking And Driving

I ahve always been in favour of NO drink and drive. Too many people think 2 pints and drive is OK ... Well I am a wimp and 2 pints goes straight to my legs Some people it takes 10 pints.... I do have 1 pints of shandy which kinda might make me a hypocrite, But only one and thats a few hrs before I drive anyways... But I wont be the only one.. Anyone who sees me with a pint on matchdays..its usually a very very expensive non alcahol beer.

All this so many units is too confusing... NO drink is a lot more clear and sensible.. But why is non alcahol beer more expensive than real beer.. that doesn't help.

No smoking and driving should also be the law.. too dangerous.

Good call davo.

Re: Drinking And Driving

see the report in todays accy observer about some one killing his friend by crashing his car whilst twice over the limit and the judge is considering a community service order, he gets charged wit causing death by careless driving and not involuntary manslaughter, a complete and utter farce and a waste of a life, drink drivers should be banned for life but they still drive when banned and yes i have been guilty of both offences in the past but realised that being a prat can kill someone,i was lucky not to have any accidents whilst d/d, but iwas foolish and i served a prison sentence of 3 months for my stupidity, but this idiot kills someone and is getting a slap on the wrists,TOTALLY WRONG he should jailed.

I agree with that....the reason for my flippancy was the ban on smoking.

dont mind people putting there own lives at risk, thats up to them, Drink n Driving puts everyone else at risk, its no contest n anyone who thinks differant is braindead, know someone personally who lost a family member through this, should be lifetime ban,n custodial sentence.

I agree alcohol affects people in a different manner, some have a greater tollerance than others, therefore in my humble opinion no one should be alowed to drink any alcohol and drive, a zero limit is the only sensible solution.

Re: Drinking And Driving

Most European countries have sticter limits than ours, a few have 0.80mil limits like ours, but most have 0.50mil and some have zero limits
Found out here
Driving in Austria, speed limits in Austria, driving laws in Austria, Austrian motoring rules and regulations.
