East Lancs is beautiful!
Pretty hairy drive to work at 5:30 this morning in the fog and the frost, Happily most of it was gone by lunchtime, which is when I took this photograph as we were whizzing along the top of Ramsgreave. Sadly, the sun was in the wrong position to get a good un of Accy.
Allright, it's not one of the best pictures that I have ever taken but you have to grab em when you can. Even so, it shows that we have a landscape that can match any in the world for beauty. It is something that we can all be proud of and something we should be screaming at Lancs CC and HBC to protect.
As usual this is stitched together from several images the original is about 1.5Mb. If anyone would like full sized copy drop me a pm with your email address and I will happily send it to you.

Re: East Lancs is beautiful!
I agree. The landscape here is something else. I flew from Stansted to Blackpool last friday at dawn & with excellent visability. We came up over the Peaks then turned over the Rossendale Valley and came in from about 10,000ft over Accy, then Blackburn - Preston - Blackpool.
"Hyndburn" looked magnificient at that time of the day, with a fantastic colour contrast between the upland areas, the towns themselves & the low lying pastoral areas. The view was far better than anything else on the way up and was alone well worth the 3.30am London start & the £6.99 + airport tax fare.

Re: East Lancs is beautiful!
We have some cracking counryside but at times I think it is taken for granted it will always be there. I took some from Huncoat look out towards Whalley to remind me of what I am missing.

Re: East Lancs is beautiful!
Nice pic A-B.
It would have been even better if you'd have stopped the car, rather than snapping happily away whilst 'whizzing along'.
We do live in a beautiful part of the country though, as your photographs shows, thank you.

Ahhh "What is this life if, full of care, we have not time to stand and stare."
I'll tell you wot it is mate, it is damned busy that's wot it is and standing on the top of a bloody hill admiring the scenery doesn't get the product delivered or the wages paid. Like I said, you grab em when you can, Whizzing or not. But I'm pleased you liked it.

Re: East Lancs is beautiful!
What a lovely picture A-b. Yes we do have beautiful landscape.
When standing on the hill at the back of my house I can see all the way to the Lakes on a clear day, so I've made a note to remember to get the camera out next time and share the view instead of admiring it selfishly.

Re: East Lancs is beautiful!
East Lancs has some of the most beautiful country in England - but don't tell everybody, or they'll all want to come. When Billcat and Eileen stayed with us up here, they loved it - Bill even said that they didn't have such beautiful big views in the States! I missed it so badly when I moved away, I just had to come back, even if it's only for short breaks.

Re: East Lancs is beautiful!
Nice photo A-b. I should take some of the view from up here on a clear day. It's surprising how far you can see.
