Eastgate
Hi, did you know that at last, the CBS building on Eastgate, has been purchased?
HOME AND BARGAINS are moving into it. Nice one!
Dont know just when, but there is a sign in the window advertising for some staff.

Re: Eastgate
Does that mean we'll have an empty shop on Broadway?

Re: Eastgate
So that would seem to suggest that this is where the Bus Station is going. Farewell Integrated Transport.

Re: Eastgate
If Home and bargain are moving to the retail park, who's for betting that we get yet another charity or pound type shop on Broadway.

Re: Eastgate
Nah,it'll be another phone shop or card shop! Birthdays is moving into the old Our Price unit in the Arndale so that will only give us 3 huge card shops within spitting distance of each other! Also O2 are recruiting for staff in Accy!

Ditto!
I heard a rumour that Argos were also thinking of moving up there as well.

I think that would be better for Argos to move up to the retail park, the shop on Blackburn Road is just too small for the custom that they get especially around Christmas and parking is dreadful around there.

Re: Eastgate
I'm sure Home and Bargain won't get the same 'passing trade' when they move up there......and it is a bit of a trek if you don't have transport.
They could certainly do with larger premises but surely there is somewhere more central.

Eastgate
Went into my favourite store today and asked about the new store. WE ARE TO HAVE TWO HOME AND BARGAINs, the shop on Broadway is to STAY, plus the new superstore on Eastgate! Supposed to be opening first week in June.
Cant be bad!
