Edith Dunstan

Councillor Edith Dunstan was a fine woman and did a lot for Hyndburn. It is very sad news that she died earlier this week. She was due to be Mayor this year but fell ill before she was able to be take up the role.

She was 81 but had such an incredible zest for life. She will be missed.

Oh Gayle, how very, very sad ... remember me saying in a thread how young she looked for her age .. was looking forward to seeing a 'senior' lady in this position .. oh dear .. sad loss.

Only had the pleasure of meeting the lady once ,but she was a very vital and forward looking councillor.A great loss to her family and many friends and constituents.
