Re: electricity cards

It never ceases to amaze me that some pensioners make themselves vulnerable by having such meters - even if you ignore the extra cost it makes on fuel bills.

Their relatives must not care much to allow their relative to use such a system.
The elderly are advised to stay in when the temperature drops, so why have the need to go out to a paypoint?

Should have emergency credit - Put the card in and press emergency

I just got my heating allowance with my pension yesterday so I’m willing to donate a tenner to charge her card. Just give me an address to go to and I’ll be on my way.

On the rare occasions I use emergency you do, so maybe it depends on supplier?

It's the type of card meter you have. If the cards are pale yellow with a silver stripe, you use the emergency credit button. If the card is like a credit card, you put the card in and it will then allow emergency credit. The most modern ones are a type of folding key which is put in and that then allows you to use emergency credit.
