So should the headmistress

Quote:
She was suspended in June 2009 after telling parents that their seven-year-old daughter had been tied to a fence by a number of boys and hit with a skipping rope, the tribunal has heard.
'Minor accident'
Head teacher Deborah Crabb told the tribunal the incident was not bullying but an "inappropriate game" that went too far.

Re: embarrasment

reading that the dinner lady was a plank, by going to the press, n agree wi lancsdave, the headmistress should be sacked also, seems the good name of the school takes priority oer bullying. also says the dinnerlady was on a final warning, so she aint mrs perfect.

No it does not, it says

Quote:
Mrs Hill's decision to then speak to the parents at a scout meeting had been a breach of confidentiality which would have earned her a "final warning", said Mrs Crabb.
So she would have been given a final warning for discussing the matter with parents. It does not say she was on a final warning before the incident.

Re: embarrasment

If a child of mine had been tied to some railings, and hit with as skipping rope, I wouldn't care who told me. I'd want to know.

A head teacher who described such an incident as an 'inappropriate game, that had gone too far', I'd like to tie to some railings, and hit with a skipping rope, so she too could enjoy the fun involved in such games.

Re: embarrasment

To me the headmistress lives in cloud cuckoo land, if she thinks tying a kid to railings is a game that went wrong, and what message does it give to the kids if this is her attitude

Re: embarrasment

So a group of boys tying a seven year old girl to railings is an 'inappropiate game'? The girl wanted to be tied to railings as part of the 'game' did she? If not it wasn't a game. And which part of the 'game' was 'inappropiate'-the tying up or the whipping?
What will the boys next 'game' be-a frightening thought. If lashing a tied up girl is a 'minor accident' what do they have to do to gain the headmistress's disapproval?
