European Union Here We Come!
Whether we like it or not we will be fully integrated into the EU within a few years.
We are now virtually dependant on foreign lands for our gas supply, crude oil and now, it is claimed, we shall soon have to import milk because our dairy farmers have been screwed down so hard by the big supermarkets, that many dairy farmers are going out of the dairy business.
Instead of WASTING billions on ID Cards that few people want (yet TB is pushing them through), more billions on a nuclear deterrent that few people agree with and even more billions on prosecuting a war that most British people disagree with, we should be pouring some of that money into alternative energy sources (like hydro electric schemes) so that we could sell electricity to the continent.
The conquering of these islands by our European neighbours by force has not been successful since 1066 but now we are being taken over by stealth and our excuse for a government is doing nothing about it.

Re: European Union Here We Come!
The problems stems from the ballot box. Most people seem to forget about certain issues, & solely concentrate on what the politician is saying at the time of an election. I personally, am getting a little fed up with the meddling EU.

Re: European Union Here We Come!
sod the farmers , i have yet to meet a poor farmer they get paid not to grow crops and various other subsidies . if you cant compete then get out the market we have a housing shortage in the uk so instead of planting crops or grazing cattle sell your farms to property developers and make a lot of money.
dont wory about green belts a few grand in the right polotitions pockets will extend a greenbelt
or the alternative is grow a set of balls and block all the imports coming in like teh french farmers do when thier not happy instead of crying over spilt milk ( sory had to get that one in )

Re: European Union Here We Come!
It was on the news today that soon we will have to import milk from Europe.
Have the British dairy farmers creamed all the EEC subsidies off already?

Yes please we still need this as well. Next time North Korea does a nuclear test we should nuke them in a preemptive strike. (same as Pakistan and India)

Jambutty, This excuse for a government are aiding and abeting Europe in the total destructioon of or right to govern ourselves, a right that has been won over many years at the cost of so many lives. Hitler wound be laughing his sides out, as Blair is allowing us to be overrun by European Chancers like the French and Germans, especially the Germans who may still be marching down Pall Mall in Jackboots

Re: European Union Here We Come!
We may be able to drop toalies by the ton on the whole EU carry on but yet can we survive withought it. Yes there are mountains and lakes to keep prices at a high level but without them there would be even fewer farmers and dispite what Chav1 says some are poor and would be poorer still.
For many many years we have had to import what we needed in order to survive as we "alledgedlly" cannot produce what we want and need in large enough quantitis at prices we are willing to pay. The whole world is heading in the direction of a gigantic hypermarket from everything from nails through to whole islands.
In essence dispite what we think of the EU and its stupid rules we need them sadley.

Re: European Union Here We Come!
I don’t have a problem with a national ID card as such for those who cannot verify their identity by other means. Passport, driving license, National Insurance card and the like. It is having to pay for it twice that sticks in my craw and the fact that once introduced a future government can, and probably will, expand the information contained on them or the data base that the card will be checked against. With CCTV cameras sprouting like spring flowers and now black boxes in cars, telephone calls and emails being monitored we are galloping towards an Orwellian society with every increasing speed.
It is our taxes that will pay for the implementation Neil and then it has been suggested that we will then have to pay £30 over the cost of a biometric passport.
We may have a nuclear deterrent Neil but we will not be able to launch a missile without first getting the USA’s permission and even then we will need the launch codes from them. What use is that? If someone chucked a nuke at the UK, do you think that the yanks will allows us to chuck one back? The only time that we will be able to use our nuclear deterrent is if America is ever seriously threatened or attacked.
Your attitude would have us all back in medieval times pretty rapidly. Do you wait until you have absolutely nothing in the house to eat before buying more Neil?
We trade with many countries outside the EU SPUGGIE J but we are not told by them what laws we should have. We didn’t used to need the EU, our politicians did and have put us into a position where we now do need the EU.

Re: European Union Here We Come!
I don't need a card with my finger prints and iris scan. I tend to take my fingers and eyes with me where ever I go.
