Re: Evil Dead

If you want a real gory film then you should watch Braindead. Its totally over the top and funny but extremely gory too.

It's either from Australia or New Zealand. It was released in the early 90's I think. Its about this guy who lives with his mum and she gets bit by a rabid monkey creature and turns into a zombie sort of thing, then the people who visit get bit and they turn into zombies too. So he keeps them in the basement. Lets say it ends up with a house full of zombies and him using a lawnmower on them. Very gory

Not that any movie with zombies in it can ever really be a bad movie, but I can't see how it's better than the original.
surely with the special effects it adds to the quality of the film

New Zealand. For those who don't know, Braindead was one of Peter 'Lord of the Rings' Jackson's first movies. He keeps going on about how at some point he's going to go back and do a cheap gore movie again...

Better special effects never really help improve the quality of a movie below the surface level.
Didn't help either of those new Star Wars movies, did it?

the new star wars are a whole new story though and not a remake as im sure war of the worlds when its released will be an improvement, fair enough evil dead wont be unless they have bruce in it again

Should be, but I've learnt to be jaded because of the first two.
Jar Jar Binks in Ep1 and that bloody romance scene in the field in Ep2? I'm about ready to kill and eat George Lucas.

Re: Evil Dead

I wasn't keen on Jar Jar either, but you can't have it all.

This is the one where he turns to the Dark Side - that makes it unmissable!!!

Haven't seen the re-make of Dawn of the Dead, but I loved the original, thought it was dead funny and pure class.
