Ok, when you put it in that kind of perspective, it really is not all that exhorbitant. I guess that in general real estate is more expensive. Makes some sense when you consider that land for building is at a premium because of the relatively small size of the island and the relatively large size of the population. I know of a house similar in size to mine in the Village of Battersea about 40k north of hear which has a price tag of only $60,000 and it sits on about an acre of land.

Battersea, U.K., might buy you a lock-up garage for that money.

It is.
Your comment reminded me of Joan Sanderson complaining about the view from her room, to Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers.

Re: Exciting New Development
I loved that episode ... all of them in fact ... one of the benefits of satellite tv is that you can still see some great old shows among the general crap.

Re: Exciting New Development
I don't think the location is all that briliant, and looking at house prices in the vicinity (ie bottom end of Ormerod St and area) they go for a lot less than £100,000.
I take your point about them hopefully having all mod cons and what have you and that's why I said I'd like to have seen more images of the interiors on the website because there can be a world of a difference in value simply depending on how well they have been done inside.
I like the idea of "Puddleside Park" - sounds far more appropriate!

Or, considering what they want for the apartments: "On Golden Pond."

Re: Exciting New Development
I wonder what they are hoping to be offered for the 'penthouse suites'?

Re: Exciting New Development
Wonder if anybody has actually bought one of these? Can't see any lights in them which leads me to believe none are occupied. Anybody know?

Re: Exciting New Development
Walked past them yesterday and they did look totally deserted. I quite like the fron though, lodge side.
