Fag Runs to Spain..........Forget it.

I bought a few packets of the Rolling Tobacco I use when I came home to England in June. They cost me 18.50 Euros an outer of 10: 1.85 a packet.
I went to the same tobacco shop today and paid 34.00 Euros for the same outer: 3.40 a packet.
All brands have almost doubled in price for rolling tobacco.
Cigs have increased by 10 to 12 Euros an outer.
Golden Virginia has gone up from 45 Euros an outer to 82.50 Euros.
That is on a par with France.
I think that signals the end of fag runs?

Well you will have tyo find a country to live that has cheaper ones. Still bargins to be had in other parts of Euroland ie in the east.

On Tyendinaga Mohawk territory, cigs are going for $8.00 for a carton of 200 .... that seems to be a lot less ..... I think it works out to about four pounds ............. and god knows how many euros; I never got into that.

beligum is still cheap and still a third of UK prices but for how long god knows

i bet these countries looked at how much money our govenment screwed out of us in tax and saw it as an easy way out of teh recession lol

last time i went to Belgium (2 years ago) we paid £35 for 10 pkts of GV, the year before that when we went we paid £29.50 for 10

Hi Roy......Which places have put Golden Virginia up to 82.50€ they are still showing as 45€ on website having just gone up from 35€ last month! Benson & Hedges went up from 31€ to 34.5€ but i suppose that still makes them around half UK price. Does'nt bother me too much as i dont smoke, but friends do!

Its wierd why on that site Benson & Hedges are roughly the same price as you can buy them yourself in Spain, but Golden Virginia tobacco is so much dearer. No one is going to order that from them when you can still get it for 45€ in Benidorm!
