Steady on Cashy.

Praising a money grabbing Labour politican, not being given anymore wonga, will mean we'll both be accused of political bias.

Maybe stability is part of the problem, especially if that stability leads to politicians ignoring the ones they owe their jobs too.

Oh I don't know, there could be something in what Eric is saying. It's like being put on probation really, you do a good job and the people will support you and want you to carry on so you get an extension. You start turning people over and you're seen for the shyster you are you're out on your ear. Added to that it's only a year so the damage could be limited.

Someone who does continually well could then be given a 2 year contract as a "vote of confidence" so they carry on in the same vein, but with a 6 month warning order meaning, you've got the job but you start to go off line & get ideas you go on probation for 6 month & if you've not bucked up you're out. Can't hurt any !

That way legislation is set out the Country would be in limbo, and nothing would ever get done

Re: Failed Politicians?

I do find myself agreeing with most including Jaysay.

I hope the Tories go local fir these reasons,

insurance against corruption. They will have to flit or not do it.

Insurance against ignorance to local matters or getting them disproportionally in the wrong order

greater difdiculty following the party whip due to local ties

cashman is right. You can have a bad local and a good outsider in the end.

It all a balance.
