Re: Faith In Its Purest Form.

willow, the nun was in one of the meetings but is dressed in normal clothes with just a crucifix round her neck.

I have found this to be a very moving programme and as you say Nick's plight was handled in a very sensitive way but also to try and help protect the hospice and it's workers.

Last weeks programme showed that Nick was a very talented artist until the muscular distrophy overtook the use of his limbs and many of his excellent paintings were auctioned off to raise funds for helen & douglas house, in fact in total they raised over £100,000.

I defy anyone who watched last night not to be moved by as you mentioned willow the mother who had lost her son to a disease and was now watching her daughter go through the same problems...good that it finished on a positive that she was improving and the mum had found some acceptance with her lot and was adamant that life now was about having as much fun with her daughter as possible

Was she the one who said something about it not being appropriate to invite the sex worker to do her thing at the hospice itself?

He was obviously very knowledgeable about music too when that chap with the cello came to play for him such a shame that he can no longer use his talents.

The bit which really got to me was when they were trying to put that tube in for the girl and it wasn't going down and she was obviously under stress. As a mother I would hate to have to try to soothe a child of mine going through that.

No I don't think she spoke in the meeting, but if you continue to watch she will be on again. She actually founded the hospice and devotes all her time to it.

It was moving a few weeks ago when a woman had lost her little son and she asked if she could go to the nuns daily prayers in the adjoining church and they invited her with open arms and made sure she felt included.

There are many things that I have seen in this program that is quite upsetting but I am amazed by the staff's ability to continue supporting when they so obviously get very attached to the children too
