Without wanting to sound hurtful, from what I can gather it's been a long time since you've been involved with local politics in any detail and the council is more or less a completely different landscape in the way it is made up. I'm sure dirty tricks have gone on in the past from Labour's side as they have done in abundance from the Conservative side but those days really do need to come to an end and none of my team see any merit in playing that game.

Have a word with Peter and the boys about dirty tricks. Two days before the election a little card went through the doors of Rishton households stating that Labour would look to car parking charges as a stealth tax. That was laid on the table as a passing thought over 12 years ago and has never been mentioned since because it was a terrible idea. If dragging up ancient discussions is the best thing they could throw at us to win an election it proves how little they actually did in each ward.

We have a new council and a new beginning. Don't be afraid of talking to us if you have ideas and comments.

The reason it was never dragged up Ken is I think you've noticed, the Tories have been in control since 1999 which could have something to do with it. as you know, I've said before I like you as a person, but we'll never see eye to eye on a political level, sometimes I think your a little naive politically when you think Labour are all sweetness and light even today, there are people who will stop at nothing in the dirty tricks department and I not just saying pushing an odd mischievous leaflet out at election times, It is far more extreme than that. If you think these people have gone away, they haven't, I saw one knocking on doors on my estate canvasing for Labour only last week, and round about this time of year I still get spurious phone calls in the early hours especially if I have been having a rant on here

Nothing wrong with gentlemanly disagreement and I know that it will always be respectful between us.

If something smells fishy then the public will come to suspect ulterior motives and that is precisely what has happened with the Conservatives recently. That isn't meant as a dig but openness and admission that things need to improve are far better standpoints than waving to the populace and constantly saying how wonderful you are.

There are some difficult times ahead and we have a team in place to try and make it as smooth as possible but for me the key to being a decent councillor is good interaction with the public and I give you my word that I will strive to continue that.

The only stupid thing is when you admitted the previous Leader of the Council, asked you to put political propaganda(commit a dirty tricks campaign)on here. I was only having a laugh, and YOU came out and said it(well after the elections of course), I would be very surprised if this was in the public domain prior. If it is I apologise, but I can't be bothered to find the post, maybe you can point me in the right direction

Not lazy, I do believe, as you stated that "fester" wanted you to post stuff on here prior to the election, but I believe you made this public after the election, or am I wrong and you said it? Show me the post.
