Re: Fat person's grumble about shops which supposedly sell clothes for fat people

Im a variety of sizes. Im a bigger size at the top (its another reason for not wearing dresses!!!) lol But what gets me is i can go into M&S and buy stuff from there - one size but if i go to Tesco or Asda or even New Look i have to buy a size bigger. Found its just easier at M&S.

Re: Fat person's grumble about shops which supposedly sell clothes for fat people

Try:

Simply Be - A fashion catalogue that offers a wide range of fashion for all occasions in sizes 16 - 30.

Sorry if its like everywhere else is and concentrates on fashion.

I dont have a problem with clothes, its Bra's thats my problem. I'm fussy they have to be underwired and not the lacey cupped ones. Now if you were up to C Cup you'd have no problem, you could go into New Look etc and find a nice £10 - £15 one. But no, as I am a 34 FF I have to go all the way to Manchester and spend £40 - £60 on one from Bravissimo. And trust me i've looked everywhere nearer!!

M&S go up to FF for larger sizes but I don't know if they do for 34.

It's not easy buying bras even for 'ordinary' sizes. Daughter wanted a 34c but all 34c are not equal, not by a long way.

It's a good job you're moving.

The local pervs would be raiding your washing line!

Re: Fat person's grumble about shops which supposedly sell clothes for fat people

Theres a shop in Darwen called Sarahs sizes which caters for the bigger lady. I'm told that if she doesn't have your size in then she will have it made for you. Not too sure how true this is as I haven't been.

I'm going soon on the recommendation of my workmates so that my mother can get some new clothes.

If you want the details then please pm me

Darwen? That's like a foreign country to me! I don't drive so I very rarely venture further than Blackburn.

There is Panther but again the nearest is in Manchester.

Long Tall Sally-The Best Selection of Clothes for Tall Women

One of my friends buys her clothes from there as she is 6ft 1in.

I've tried in M&S Stores but to no avail. Will try online though they usually have more selections online.

I haven't looked to see how expensive the clothes are but Dawn French has a larger ladies clothes shop and they do mail order

Sixteen47 - Beautiful Clothes in plus sizes from Dawn French & Helen Teague

Might be nice if you were going somewhere special, but just had a look and they are a bit expensive.....well, for everyday stuff...but for that special occasion when you are prepared to shell out a bit more...... OK.
