Re: Fifth gear

No they start filming again in January (including Hamster!! Yippee!!)

I watch at least 1 episode of Top Gear a day, they're on UKTV Gold.

As for the Stig. He has to be a formula 1 driver, or ex driver, because there is an episode where he drives a Renualt formula 1 car round the track. Now these cars are woth in excess of £1million, and they don't let just anybody drive them!!

Re: Fifth gear

There have been 2 stigs, teh first was a F1 test driver(I forget his name) but he was replaced when it came out. I don't think anyone knows who teh current one is outside Topgear/BBC. My money too is on him being someone from F1/F3000 or something similar. Although the lap in the F1 car was quite ragged so I don't reckon he was that familiar with it. He does seem very comfortable in closed cars so maybe touring cars or something like that(Le mans style stuff).

It will be good to get TG back, teh balance between the three presenters is spot on and they can bounce stuff off each other so well it keeps you hooked. Add to that some of the crazy stuff they do and its probably made itself the best motoring show evermade and will take some beating.(The episode with the boats was absolute class!)

Re: Fifth gear

Well the sooner its back the better. Its way ahead of fith gear with more fun and carrying on which makes it easy watching. Fifth Gear will never be able to compete even without the breaks in it and is a poor substitute for numero uno.

Brainiac is ace. I was watching an episode the other week where they were blowing up caravans. All the caravan detonators were fitted to the pockets of a snooker table, so every time a ball was potted a different caravan blew up.

Re: Fifth gear

In an interview in March of this year the ex-Stig (McCarthy) actually claimed that there was not one single stig anymore. In fact, different people play him in different weeks.

i said that
