That's what I've bought, Willow. A box of standard fireworks with 17 fireworks in cost me £12. Quite enough to pay, I think.
I don't see the point in spending £50 on one of those massive fireworks with the almighty bang. Madness.

Re: Fireworks
Some absolutely huge bangs going off round here earlier. Three doors up from us and the silly woman 2 doors up left her dog in the back yard. The poor thing was going silly....will ring the bloody RSPCA if she leaves it out tomorrow.

Re: Fireworks
We haven't bought any fireworks this year. The ones that you get in those Standard boxes are just lame and the good ones cost an absolute fortune.
Instead we walked up to the Plough in Ossy. Weather was nice enough to stand out and for the cost of a round of drinks we saw a really good display. Only slight problem was one rogue firework that didn't go upwards and landed at our feet - we all moved pretty fast - that could have been very dangerous if it had landed on any of us. It scared us all a bit and made Zack cry because it landed closest to him, fortunately my Dad had hold of his hand and yanked him to safety.
It's all got a bit too much these days. Too noisy, too expensive and way too dangerous.
Plus, what gives anyone the right to set them off at 1 o'clock in the morning - that's just plain inconsiderate - but that's what we were treated to this morning.

Re: Fireworks
I think Im right in saying that a car horn should not be sounded between the hours of 23.30 - 07.00 so whichever fool was letting firworks off was probably breaking the law. Also downright inconsiderate into the bargain.

Re: Fireworks
Got one thorough the front door of my girlfriends house last night. Someone opened the front door and though it in. Luckily it stayed in the hallway. Could have been a lot worse as my 8month old son and 2dogs were in the front room. Police came out and said there was nothing they could do, fire brigade came out and gave us some fire safety advice and fitted a couple of smoke alarms. I dont think fireworks should be banned i just think you should have to attend a health and safety course first and have to produce proof you have attended it before you can buy fireworks.

That's true, the hens in Rhyddings Park have not layed an egg for days.
Talking of the animals the stupid Co-op didn't have any carrots this morning for the rabbits, they really enjoyed the 20p lettuce I gave them for breakfast though

Re: Fireworks
It is now 6 days since bonfire night and every night since I have heard bangers. Tonight, there are fireworks of all sorts, including rockets, being let off at the entrance to the playing fields within yards of my front door
For goodness sake its time they were banned from use

Re: Fireworks
It was Diwali a couple of days ago so it's possible that you were hearing fireworks because of that.

I have never heard of that festival before , so had to Google
BBC - Religion & Ethics - Diwali
I thought that Hindus were a bit thin on the ground round these parts, (correct me if I'm wrong), since all local emphasis on integration is centred on Muslims.
