How I miss it.
Oh the memories of those days whish I had them back.

Re: Fireworks Petition

Is there any orginised bonfire set ups anymore with a display grub etc? Its a pity that kids think fireworks are fun and dont see the dangers.

They've been doing it again tonight. It's not quite as annoying as it was when I had a baby and a restless two year old to settle into their beds.

Do the police ever catch them at it? They are becoming a dangerous menace with them and someone will end up seriously injured.

Re: Fireworks Petition

No they don't get caught because they only ever let off a few each evening. Plus, I think it's adults (homeowners) not kids so they just disappear inside their house again.

Only good thing is that they have more money than sense and when it does actually come to bonfire night they set off loads - we don't need to buy them we just sit in the front bedroom and watch all theirs.

Re: Fireworks Petition

Gayle the position you are in is wrong and should not be allowed to happen so someone somewere is failing you and others in the same position. There has been non hear yet as the will not be available until next weekend. The shops are checked regularly to be sure they are not stocking or selling them. Maybe its time a size 12 foot was put up the rears of the authorities for allowing it. You have my deepest sympathy having young children and idiots being a nuisense.

There is a firework display, bonfire, various food stalls and rides for children every year at Accy Cricket Club. It is run by Hyndburn Rotoract and all the money raised goes to a different designated charity every year.

Re: Fireworks Petition

10 o'clock - Saturday 15th October - did you know that it was bonfire night tonight. It must be because we're getting a firework display over here in Ossy.

Re: Fireworks Petition

The first fireworks i've heard were tonight just a few doors away from me - theyre still setting them off now.

The Rising Bridge Inn is having a bonfire and fireworks display on bonfire night and there will be food on as well. The landlord is making soup and i'm doing spuds and black peas and hopefully parkin and treacle toffee to sell to raise money for the school. The fireworks will be set off by a licensed person.

Re: Fireworks Petition

I've signed it - only hope it can do some good. My poor dog was driven to diastraction last night by some idiots who don;t know it's not yet November 5th. I know you can get medication for animals who suffer and if it was only on 1 night of the year this might be Ok but I can;'t drug him from now till February can I!!
