Re: Fleetwood Pier Destroyed By Fire

to be honest willow, with all the rain we have had recently i doubt a dog end would have set fire to anything, it was set on fire in the early hours of this morning, other than arson the only other thing that it could have been is an electrical fault, but i'm sticking with the insurance scam

hmmmmm, ok, maybe not insured but they will still have to demolish it, and build whatever it was they wanted to build on there

Re: Fleetwood Pier Destroyed By Fire

When you own a pier do you actually own any land except for the entrance bit?

I wonder who will pay the massive sum of money to demolish it?

Scrap METAL - they may not need to pay for demolition

Well he'll need to get back more than £500,000 to make any sort of profit. He'd probably be able to build on the bit where the entrance was but not much are in comparison to the whole of a pier is it?

No doubt we'll find out what caused it eventually.

I reckon that's a more likely scenario. tramp drunk drops lighted match, inside, where there is a lot of rubbish and the rain hasn't soaked the wood.
