Floods.

Well we're used to lots of rain in this part of the world, but today's deluge was pretty torrential.

The road outside St. Mary's school in Ossy is about 3-5 feet underwater. I only came back that way thinking I'd miss all the traffic at home time. I imagine it was terrible when the children were leaving, and the new houses across the road were underwater too.

I've never seen the Tinker brook so high. It must have risen at least fifteen feet in the Foxhill Bank nature reserve. Any higher and it will flood over the path into the larger pond.

Re: Floods.

Normally you can't see the Tinker Brook from this angle.

Another two feet and it will break over the path, and flood into the lodge in the background.

Well when l drove through the shallower side, at about 2.30 pm, it was over my tyres, and the otherside was flooding into the new houses built on Paddock House's old field.

Perhaps the stick poking men had released the worst before you saw it.

If it's an electric mower, check his life assurance policies, before you send the poor lad out.

All the cars infront of me turned round, and wouldn't drive through, including three taxis.

Ok, if you were expecting the flood plains of the Serengeti, it wasn't that bad.

I knew I'd be alright because when they used to drown witches, the innocent sank, and only the evil ones floated.

Instead of watching it, if you'd been a bit more industrious you could have whittled a raft together, or even done a St Christopher, and carried people across, and charged them a groat each way.
