Stick with drinking a pint of absinthe.

Known to kill 100% of all known germs.

Re: Flu Jab

I had my 'flu jab a week last Thursday. The nurse persuaded me to have the one-off pneumonia jab at the same time (even though I was hospitalised with pneumonia in January).

Last Tuesday I went down with an horrendous chest infection and am now awash with antibiotics. It's probably a coincidence................

Yes it is. The flu vaccine does not inject any virus into you at all, and should be very rare to have effects, 'cept swollen arm sometimes, slight temperature and headaches in rare cases.

Pneumonia is bacterial, so can't think this has affected you at all, as the jab does also not contain any live bacteria.

Re: Flu Jab

used to have a coarse of "FLU" capsules (Red n Green) efforts way back n was flu-free fer many years, until 1 year they changed it fer the jab n had a real bad dose straight after, so in my case i never bothered again n never had flu, touch wood.

Re: Flu Jab

Research into Gulf War syndrome has revealed a better insight into how vaccines work
How Vaccinations Work - Th1/Th2 Immune Response
What raised my eyebrow, and doubts, was this-
"In individuals in whom the Th1 function predominates, causing many acute inflammations because the cellular immune system is overreactive, a vaccination could have a balancing effect on the immune system and be helpful for that individual.
In individuals in whom the Th2 function predominates, causing few acute inflammations but rather the tendency to chronic allergic or autoimmune inflammations, a vaccination would cause the Th2 function to predominate even more, aggravating the imbalance of the immune system and harming the health of that individual. This is what happened in Gulf War Illness.
The current use of vaccinations in medicine today is essentially a "shotgun" approach which ignores differences among individuals. In such an approach some individuals may be helped and others may be harmed."

Re: Flu Jab

Although I'm in a high risk group, I refuse to have the flu jab. I last had it (the flue jab Neil) in 1994, before that within days of having the jab, it was away with the blue flashing lights, then in and out of hospital four, five or six times over the winter. Since 1994 I've been an in patient 3 times only 2002 in early September and twice this year July and early September again, in fact I was discussing the fact only 2 hours ago with my consultant at the Royal Blackburn. The only sacrifices I make are that I don't go into crowded place in the flu season, and if friends of relatives have any coughs or colds they keep away, because people can die from these ailments, if they give um to me. In fact I'm a bit like Margaret in that respect as we both seem to hibernate during the winter

The trouble is that flu is a virus not a germ.
