For The Love Of A Fish ...

Quote taken from 1st page of Accrington Observer :

TWO police officers have been praised for their bravery after wading into a freezing river, turned into a raging torrent by heavy rain, to rescue a woman who had been stranded for nearly an hour.

It is believed the woman, who has not been named, was burying a goldfish on the bank of Tinker Brook, Oswaldtwistle, when her black Labrador fell into the water.
She climbed in to rescue her pet but the current was so strong she quickly became stuck and a nearby homeowner heard her cries for help.

I hope the police involved advised her next time to flush it down the loo or creamate it on the BBQ.

I was reading the artical really seriously untill i got to the bit about the goldfish ....i am now waiting for the paper to dry out on the radiator after choking on my coffee !

I read it as well and thought her a bit daft.

I'm glad she's ok, and more importantly the police officers that rescued her are as well.

I hope when her Labrador dies she's a bit more careful burying it, or at least wait until the brook isn't flooded.

Re: For The Love Of A Fish ...

It must have been really frightening, but I wouldn't have said I was burying my goldfish. I would have lied and said I slipped, or the dog pushed me in.

I wonder who it was?

I will keep my eyes peeled for any wet ladies in Ossy.
