Tell that to a farmer who finds all his chickens dead.

They don't look like any foxes I've ever seen, apart from maybe around the region of the ears. Are all Russian foxes that colour?

My guess is that these are bred from the Artic fox, (Alopex Lagopus) as against the Red fox (Vulpes Vulpes), the latter being the vermin to which we are all to familiar. The Artic fox's fur undergoes a seasonal colour change, being blue/gray during the summer and white during the winter. It's habitat, has the name suggests is Siberia/Northern Canada.

By the way, I notice the total number of foxes hunted and killed last week was no different than the total killed in an average March week pre-hunt ban. So much for this shambolic and idiotic piece of legislation.

So are the Artic fox also classed as vermin in their own parts??

Hardly. The climate of the Tundra and Artic region is hardly conducive to the intensive agriculture to which we are accustomed to within the British countryside; hence the Artic fox is free to go about it's daily life without any distractions such as entering chicken coops and killing for fun.
