Re: Fred Talbot, weatherman

Freemasons do charitable things - so did Jimmy Savile

The difference between freemasons and other charitable societies is in the oaths that they swear to abide by -

On Freemasonry, Chapter 6, by C. G. Finney

Furthermore, do I promise and swear, that I will not speak evil of a brother Master Mason, neither behind his back, nor before his face, but will apprise him of all approaching danger if in my power.

Furthermore, do I promise and swear, that a Master Mason's secrets, given to me in charge as such, and I knowing them to be such, shall remain as secure and inviolable in my breast as in his own, murder and treason excepted,

He may commit Theft, Robbery, Arson, Adultery, Rape, or any crime whatever, Murder and Treason excepted, and however well the commission of these crimes may be known to a Master Mason, if a Master Mason has committed them, he is under oath to conceal them. Now, is this right?

thing is if found to be liars they go unpunished where as even if proven innocent the accused lives are at best tarnished and at worst destroyed

perhaps its about time people wernt named until proven guilty. We dont need to know if someone is accused of rape we only need to know about it when they get convicted.

Agree with you, Bob. I always considered it to be a miscarriage of justice.

Masonry has a scale - not all masons are equal.
There have to be those at the bottom, for mundane harmless duties.

There is many a bloke had his life ruined by women crying rape when it was no such thing, by all means scroll their names across every tabloid newspaper in the country if they're found guilty, but you can't unwrite the story if they are found innocent, which happens now. Nine times out of ten if a chap is found not guilty of a sex crime, his life could still have been ruined, but almost every time his accuser still gets anonymity which to me is totally wrong
