I didn't realise there was a campaign. I'm absolutely horrified at what has been happening over there. I just clicked on that link but all it did was take me to a page with a red square on it. Maybe I'm too late.

Best left alone we had our problems in the past there, where multi religion abounds, we could have another Yugoslavia situation on our hands at least this dictator is in charge, religion is a poor master, and no alternative.

Dont forget the ones from the 14th Army in WWII the ones that called themselves the "Forgotten Army." Burma is basically all huge river valley's covered in jungle. Not the best place to fight in and the Junta knows it. Besides when you are bussum buddies with the nation that boast the largest standing army in the world then you act with caution

Re: Free Burma

not really sure why the British or the Americans for that matter, want to get involved in the place , the place has not had familial links with the UK since independance in 48 , was never part of the Commonwealth (they refused to join in 48) and if my memory of school history is correct the majority of the Burmese along with neighbouring Thailand sided with Japan during WW2 .
Seems to me we are being conned by television images of docile doe-eyed chamsom wearing women and chanting buddist monks ,
just my thoughts on the subject.

Aggred steeljack, we fell for it in Iraq paper talk propaganda, Iraq was better off with Saddam's iron fist as was Yugoslavia with Tito, Burma is best left with it's Junta, leave well enough alone let the Chineese enforce economic sanctions, "shome hope" methinks.
