Ken Hargreaves is regarded by almost everyone, regardless of the banner they happen to be waving, to have been an excellent MP.
Believe it or not, there is quite a lot of cross-party respect flying about up at Scaitcliffe House these days.

So far, that remains the extent of his only one-to-one conversation with me.

My mistake.

Re: Freedom Of The Borough
I'd agree with Ken Hargreaves.
He's a lovely man. I've just interviewed him to write an article for the Parish Magazine and he's led such an amazing life and done a lot of great work. Plus, he has never moved more than a mile away from his roots (apart from his stint as MP) and he's passionate about the local community.
Yep, give Ken the Freedom of the Borough.

Ken was the best example of a local MP you could ever come across, I could tell you some of the things he undertook which weren't exactly in an MPs remit, one in particular was when he went all the way to Rishton to see a pensioner, who needed his help, when he got there the old dear just wanted a light bulb changing
