Re: Gagging Orders

The funny thing is that these super injunctions don't work. You can find out who these people are by searching online (twitter especially). Do a search for super injunction and trawl through the results and you'll quickly find it (I'm not spelling out a name). Freedom of speech is alive and well - just not through official channels.

I don't do twitter....or facebook.
You are right though, these celebs are wasting their money as most of the general population know who they are.

I also have a problem in not really being a film fan(or TV for that matter) so these so called celebs are nothing more than names to me.

Re: Gagging Orders

I have done a search, and found footballers, actors, TV 'personalities'(who decides if the have one?) - all of no interest to me.

However - there was one who attracted my interest -
...the ex richest man in UK - the one who owns most of London real estate - but that didn't have 'juicy' connections -just to do with a fraud, so only to be expected

Margaret, I think that another one of my problems(if you can call it that) is I am not that interested on what is happening in someone elses' life.

That's my take on life too Margaret, I've enough things to bother about in my own life never mind anyone else's, can't understand why people are fascinated with What Katie did next or what Peter did next or what poor Jade went through or whether Kerry has lost weight or who's the new man in her life, I see these TV adds for these programs every day or Magazine articles, I couldn't care less

....but when a rich man with a royal title supresses knowledge of his involvment in fraud case, we need to know. He might be the victim, but we don't know unless we are told.

Re: Gagging Orders

When I say 'suppresses' it is using the present tense which still applies because the gagging order is still in place.
Your version 'suppressed' is not appropriate.

I missed an 'e' from 'involvement'.
I blame the physical disability of my hands, rather than the mental incapacity to spell.

Remind me again of your excuse.

I agree. Not completely on the "willingly gave up" part; but I'm thinkin' about it.

But ... Sometimes I think that folks want their "heroes" to get grubby; makes them more human Wasn't it Wilde who said something about: The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about? And the British press

I think they do willingly give up their privacy......they court the press, they dance attendance for the press.......oh Yes, except when they have a dirty secret they want to hide...then it there is a howl of 'Privacy'.

So, we can agree to disagree on the "willingness" thing. But, in one case I have been reading about in the Guardian, involving some chick called Imogen Thomas, the issue has nothing to do with willingly seeking publicity and notoriety, and a lot to do with blackmail. Blackmail, I believe, is still a crime in the UK.
