Gambler sues bookies

BBC NEWS | UK | England | Wear | Gambler loses £2m bookies claim

Unbeliveable. This guy must be a first class plonr. I have no sympathy for him.

I cannot abide people whose life motto is "it's always somebody else's fault".
He is one of those, and possibly the thickest version.

Not as bad as the plonker who tried suing because he slipped on a grape. Mind you it wasn't just any grape, it was an M&S grape

That's another victory for common sense, £300,000 for slipping on a grape, especially when you hear how much they are giving our servicemen who have been badly injured fight for our country, this compensation lark has got out of hand, we're becoming more like America every day

The reason for large payments for injuries like that is to hit companies as hard as reasonably possible so they dont keep being negligent. I think £300,000 is still too low of a sum to make the company avoid such things again, and the only other option would be to give the defendants a small percentage and pump the rest of the money into more suitable things, but then thats not going to be accepted by many people

Blazey you never seam to amaze me.If and when you come up with a recipe for non-slip grapes-Bannana peels and pigeon crap when wet -and boiling water that doesn't scold I'm 100% behind you.

Did you say you were studying law blazey, not surprised then, £300, 000 for slipping on a grape, what a load of rot. Whats to stop some one from throwing a grape on the floor and then slipping on it on purpose, and no doubt getting you to take it to court, for a nice fee of course. the worlds gone made, it want be long before we have ambulance chasers in this country as well

...and the lazy delinquents that are beginning to sue McDonald's for negligence, or in their words, 'making them fat'.

The decrease in the majority of people that have common sense - and responsibility over their own choices/actions - is snowballing towards absurdity.
