Re: German Measles party!

Also, was once told by my doctor, when son had a rash, and suggested could be German Measles, he shrugged this off as had the full MMR. Explained that their are lots of mild conditions that emulate German Measles, and that is why some parents may think they have got a dose.

Thing is has been completely elimated in lots of countries due to everyone having it. Sorry, to bring this subject up again, but somebody would have done sooner or later ...

I've had Rubella Entwisi, or would have been up for the goodies..

Has she not had her second though, usually at about 36 months .. so this could be the reason.

I had german measles has a kid

Also cough or sneeze of an infected person can spread the disease, so they really can get it from anyone who is walking about and spluttering.

Flashy why would ya rather have ya son get measles now rather than in adulthood?
its only risky to pregnant women, I wouldnt have thought adult men would suffer worse.

Re: German Measles party!

I got chicken pox when I was about 15, didn't really bother me that much though, just meant I couldn't really go out without looking like I had some sort of plague. It wasn't even that itchy. I really wondered what all the fuss was about.

I had the injections against German measles as a child but still caught it (them?) - they asked me when I first got pregnant if I'd had the injections and I said "yes and the disease!" and they looked at me like I was talking rubbish.

Confused a little Willow, the MMR (which included the Rubella vaccination for the first time) was not brought in until 1972, would you not be 19 then ? Maybe that's why they were a little puzzled ?
