Re: Get it sorted.

The noses of these smelly people have become desensitised by the airborn petrochemical pollutants, so they cannot smell themselves and presume all is well.

It is a known fact that if you constantly use air fresheners in your home you become accustomed to that particular smell (ie -you no longer smell it) and need to change the fragrance used. One manufacturer has now marketed one that does just that at 15 minute intervals.

Dont ruin your nose - there are lots of nice smells you will miss out on

I would have put this in 'anything goes' but i feel its a serious issue-fair enough if someone is homeless or has learning difficulties, but these people didn't.
Is this pure laziness?Whatever it is,it needs sorting.
Same thing happened to me in Gt Yarmouth this morning. In two shops there were the most vile smelling people that couldnt have washed for months. Its embarrasing as everyone is looking at each other wondering who it is.

The great Accrington soap famine is obviously at it's height and so too is the mirror famine judging by a few of the sights down town this morning !

Re: Get it sorted.

With a recession coming it will get worse. If you have to choose between buying a loaf of bread and a bar of soap, which will you choose?

Methinks it is almost time to tell you folks how to make your own bread and soap

Must admit Lindsay, I have noticed a lot more of ... what we used to call 'scruffy' people around town these days .. shouting and yelling at their kids. Can't really understand why. Clothes they walk around in, I wouldn't put in a dog's basket to line it. Not just the style, etc., but badly stained, etc. Yuk.

Then there seems to be the other end of the scale, with mothers smartly dressed and children with polished faces in pretty outfits. Is the gap widening in our social classes I wonder ? However, no excuse for not buying a bar of soap, is there? Most people have bathrooms these days.

Just wondered how many people use soap now; I do keep some on the sink upstairs, but only used for washing hands after going to the loo. I have never used any for washing bodily parts for years now. Think probably to do with showers and use of the gels (unperfumed Margaret ) .. much better. Even if you have a bath, the bath bubbly is better. Put soap in that and it kills all the bubbles. Never seen scum for years.

Sure that is not true emamum ... but you do tend to buy for kids first, don't you. Even now, still have the habit of looking at the children's section in stores ... such gorgeous things, and not costing a fortune either.

Re: Get it sorted.

On one of my 'regular day trips' recently I had to filter the air that I breathed through a scarf because a person sitting near me was wearing perfume that smelt like citrus toilet cleaner - I got a headache from it.
I have told you all about this before
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...ick-33987.html

The over use of petrochemical perfumes ruins your sense of smell, so those that do use it just pile on more of it.

There is no excuse for honky people who smell like an unwashed wheelie bin.

I know what you mean Misskitty, you can still smell these honkers even when they've gone round the corner.

Vile.
