Re: Get it sorted.

There was an air freshener advert on T.V. not long ago, It started,

Do you smell like fish?

The parents and child looked into the camera in horror from the Sofa they lounged upon, and (from what I remember), were advised, buy this plug and it in, (no mention of get of your backside and clean up),

next clip showed them sat happily together with the freshener plugged in.

Excuse me? You smell like fish? Ever considered a regular change of underwear and a wash of your essentials?

I did a google to see if I could find the Ad' no success, maybe someone else can find it?

I hope it has been washed in between, don't want anyone accusing you of being smelly.

Re: Get it sorted.

If you think you have it bad having to stand behind someone who stinks in a shop then........ Spare a thought for health professionals. Every day, doctors, nurses, midwives, health visitors have to examine the great unwashed in hospitals, surgeries, clinics and their homes.

It is unpleasant to say the least and many of these people are young (age cannot be used to excuse them), unemployed (a hard days graft can't be used as an excuse) and generally healthy (disease can't be used as an excuse). The truth is that some people just can't be arsed to keep clean.

An ex colleague of mine used to tell them to their faces (while I was peeing myself laughing behind the clinic curtains)... She always used to say " I know you don't have much money but that's no excuse for being dirty". "Soap is only 20p at Home and Bargain".

Doing home visits is worse, because the houses smell, not of air freshener, but that same dirty, unwashed smell that is ingrained into their skin and clothing. I kid you not, but I once stood in a mouldy dog turd in someone's house. It was in the bedroom and had obviously been there for weeks. I had to wipe my feet on the way out so that I didn't dirty the street..

Hey up, no thought for the poor dog that has to do it's stuff in the house 'cos they can't be arsed to take it for a walk?

Strange how people that you think don't give a fulk about most things manage to give enough of them to fill the house with kids!

My fella is a delivery driver and he once said he went into this house and the carpet was moving!!, on close inspection it was riddled with fleas or something else....EWWWWW, how people can live like that is beyond me!!....there the ones that probably STINK!!
It only takes a few minutes to shower (as someone stated once in another thread ) and only takes ...well takes me a few hours to clean my house, so why do people live like smelly scruffs??.......bloody bone idle thats why, id be very ashamed if that was me!!

I had to have a gas man out recently and apologised as my lounge and kitchen were messy*-not dirty, just messy* (Jacks toys scattered everywhere, plates unwashed from the night before and a washing pile the size of mount everest).....he turned up at 9am and i had been ill the day before so hadn't done much housework anyway the guy said it was clean and tidy and i thought he was having a laugh....but he told me that houses he had been to in Fern gore and surrounding areas had fresh and old dog faeces on the carpet, manky gravy splashed up the walls, kids in nappies that had been pooed in 2 or 3 times and the parents had only just decided to change them-in front of the gasman himself(!),sick on the stairs that wasn't cleaned up,and even a dead cat that was rotting was found in the fitted cupboard that holds the boiler that was in the kiddies room the woman who lived there apparently said she thought it was the smell from child's bed cos s/he hadn't stopped peeing the bed.
I dont know how people can live in such conditions-theres no excuse.
Yea housework is hard work and tbh sometimes i think 'stuff it,il do it tomorrow',dont we all?
But to even HAVE dog poo in your house, let alone LEAVE it in your house is VILE.

I do hope he wasnt referring to my house lol

I dont know how people can let there homes get into a state like that. I would be embarassed if my home was like that. I would be ashamed to let anyone in.
