Get On The Bus

Lancashire County Council have recently taken space in the Observer with a request for people to consider using public transport rather than their cars. I have had to shred my driving license because of an eyesight problem and to put it mildly, am non too happy. My Barnfield-Laneside Service finishes at 2-40pm. And don`t mention the bus shelters. The one redeeming feature is the friendly and courteous drivers. Am I being over critical ? After all I get free travel.

Re: Get On The Bus

I think people shouldnt use thier cars just to 'go up the road'
I walk with my kid everyday to school and back again, thats a bout a mile there and a mile back. some mothers/fathers, ive noticed have took their kids to school and they only live around the corner!!, now that is just laziness.
as for people with disabilties then that doesnt bother me, they rely on transport to get around.
Are you being over critical???.........no I dont think so

Re: Get On The Bus

I dont pay road tax, MOT, insurance and ridiculous fuel prices to stand in the cold at a bus stop, pay ridiculous prices to ride on a bus what is never on time, and take twice as long as my original journey would have taken.

Spot On.
F**K Off.

i use that service once a week and one of the drivers, Les, is really really helpful and you can also have a laugh with him, i know what you mean about them stopping at 2.40, my friend lives at the bottom end of Ribblesdale and cant go anywhere after 2.40, i see no need for this service to stop at that time, the Hyndburn circulars used to go around that way at one time, dont know why they stopped that either.....i blame Transdev

"Build and they will come"

I find spoton are generally on time and nice buses, but the cost is not something I enjoy. Its so much faster to get a train and with a young persons rail card, far cheaper.

totally agree with you there Cyfr, to get to preston on the bus it would cost me and Reece £9 odd return, if i use my family railcard on the train it costs less than a fiver, and as you say, its quicker too

Excellent point Owd Bert. They want us to use Public Transport but you can't do it when the buses aren't there can you?
