I just saw it {Path) for the first time today and my immediate reaction was "flippin 'eck that's a bit narrow." I'm surprised there's enough room to walk with a dog.

Apparently, the path was made narrow just at the entrance on purpose to prevent motorcyclists from tearing down the path at dangerous speed endangering the lives of dog walkers and children

I only remember that drive when we used to tear down it on bikes or on our hand built karts, pram wheels and all, there were pens & private garages down there then. ( 1950s- 60s ) Ironfields & Taywils. ( Taylor & Wilson ). It was the Royal Mill then.

As a former employee of the gilbraith group through a firm taken over by them Jacks motors they themselves have been taken over a firm based in the north east hargreaves ltd we at jacks were told of a possible move to goole but it fell through but this buyout of gilbraiths as gone through but could be the accrington drivers might have been offered a move to the warrington depot if that as been kept open
