Girl films her parents murder bid...
A schoolgirl filmmaker filmed herself as she attempted to murder her parents in their living room, a court heard. The girl, who was aged 15 at the time, tried to choke her mother with a length of cord, Cambridge Crown Court heard.
She then attempted to stab her father with a pair of scissors as he came to his wife's aid, jurors were told.
The teenager, who cannot be named, denies two counts of attempted murder at the family home in St Neots on 24 February last year.

jaysay, we certainly agree on that one, she probably used the mobile/camera bought by her parents to film it, i see no sensible reason why people should not be named.

Under age criminals should not be named UNTIL AFTER they have been proven guilty. Once that guilt has been established then fair enough name and shame them.
In fact this should apply to all persons accused of committing a crime. After all is not the accused innocent until proven guilty? So why blacken a person’s character just because they have been accused of committing a crime?

Re: Girl films her parents murder bid...
Good grief what on earth is the world coming to when a kid is filming herself trying to kill her parents?
I agree that all accused persons should remain anonymous until they are proven guilty.

To be fare that should be the so in all cases, including rape, then if the person is found innocent their names are not dragged through the mud before hand by our wonderful tabloid press or should i say gutter press

Re: Girl films her parents murder bid...
If she filmed the occurance how much more evidence do you need.
How is she going to deny that. NAME the little bitch.
All that crap about about human rights should not apply to criminals.
commit a crime against humanity and human right should be forfeit, and the wooly minded dogooders who protest, should be locked up with them.

Re: Girl films her parents murder bid...
It's shocking and disgusting that she filmed the attempted murders, and as misskitty says 'wonder what was going on in her mind'. But i also wonder why she wanted her parents dead in the first place?

I wonder what drove her to do this too.
Not that it's an excuse but we don't know, she may have been abused by them for years and just snapped.

Re: Girl films her parents murder bid...
I could understand if it was her mother-in-law...
Only joking, though I'm sure some of the married men on the forum can at least appreciate that one.
I think its fair enough to name adults, normally people dont get taken to court after all unless someone believes their is enough evidence to convict them. There is going to be mistakes made but there would be mistakes even without revealing their names and well, people find out things through word of mouth one way or another anyway.
I may be completely mistaken but have childrens name not ALWAYS been kept anonymous?
