Re: give em ya blood!

There was an incident around 1980 where loads of blood got contaminated with HIV, I wonder if maybe that's the reason?

Re: give em ya blood!

I don't mind giving blood, but my veins strongly object and run away hiding, the first 30 minutes is usually spent being stabbed to bits, feel like a second hand dartboard after!

My boyfriend wont let me give blood. He is afraid of needles and he squirms at the slightest thing related to a needle, and a plaster covering the place where a needle has been in my arm is out of the question.

Screening of blood for hepatitis C wasn't done until mid 70s - that's how Anita Roddick got it, by transfusion during a caesarian.
Since then we have had the problems of HIV and BSE
So the screening methods need updating continuously as new threats emerge.

Well tell him to get stuffed, if it's what you want to do then do it!!!!!!

All I say to anyone who doesn't like the idea of giving blood is...

"If you needed it in an emergency you would expect it to be there so what would happen if everyone felt the same way as you...you'd die!!!!"

And of course, you do everything he tells you to without question.

Do you walk ten yards behind him when you're out?
