I agree and that is what I see this big society as trying to achieve. Making people respect other people and places around them and try to reduce the get what you can out of society for doing nothing attitude many appear to have today.

Our local Council appear to be all for the big society idea with the way they have created local management boards (I think that is the name) in each ward and have a committee of councillors and local residents deciding on what to spend there allocated budget on in that ward for the improvement of that ward.
